Ryan Auld
Nutrient Management and Research Technician

Ryan is a dual-role intern, spending part of his time working as a Nutrient Management Specialist in the IDA office, and the other as a Research Technician collaborating on IDA projects with the USDA ARS in Kimberly. Ryan earned his BS in BioResource Research with a focus in Environmental Chemistry from Oregon State University. He is finishing his MS in Soil Science under the guidance of Dr. Amber Moore at OSU.

During his undergraduate education, Ryan completed a thesis on developing a real-time soil nitrate sensor and worked in OSU’s Soil Health Laboratory. His love for the dairy industry began during his graduate education, where he studied the interactions between different soils throughout the Pacific Northwest and the nitrogen mineralization potential of dairy manure. Ryan is a proud BUILD Dairy alumni and excited to work more closely with Idaho’s dairymen.
