Advocating for policies that protect Idaho’s dairymen

The Idaho Dairymen’s Association’s policy positions are directly shaped by the needs of Idaho’s dairymen. Each year, IDA’s Resolution Committee, comprised of nine dairymen from across the state, convenes to review and amend the member-approved policies. Any proposed changes are presented to the full membership for a vote at IDA’s annual meeting. These member-approved policies are the foundation of IDA’s legislative efforts, serving as the guiding framework for all state and federal advocacy throughout the year. During legislative sessions, IDA staff closely monitors bills introduced and uses the member-approved policies to determine positions on issues that could impact the dairy industry. By adhering to this clear policy framework and working collaboratively with elected officials, IDA ensures that Idaho’s dairy families have a strong voice in the legislative process, protecting the industry and the communities it supports.
